About the Podcast

We started this podcast to help those diagnosed with dementia realize they’re not alone and that there are ways to live well with their diagnosis. By sharing personal stories and practical tips, we aim to create a supportive community. We hope our podcast becomes a valuable resource for finding expert advice and guidance across various fields, helping everyone navigate their journey with dementia more effectively.

Our Story

When my husband Bob was diagnosed with Vascular Mild Cognitive Impairment in 2019, I found myself lost, not knowing where to turn for answers. It was only a couple of years later, through the guidance of a friend, that we discovered a support group filled with people in similar situations. The group offered immense love, information, and understanding, which was invaluable, yet it was disheartening to realize such resources weren’t more readily accessible, and many still lacked the support they needed.

Inspired by Bob’s suggestion, we created this podcast to reach out to those who find themselves where we once were—searching for understanding and navigating even greater challenges. David Bolinger (Debo), Denis Lowe, and SuAnne Cobb joined as hosts, with our longtime friend Jeffrey Cunningham editing our episodes.

Our podcast is not about polished presentations or professional “talent.” It’s about authenticity and representing the realities of living with dementia. Whether it’s Denis struggling to find the right words, Bob pondering questions, or SuAnne navigating her own challenges, we are here to show the true face of this disease. Our aim is not just to inform but to embody the experiences of those living with a diagnosis.

This podcast is crafted for individuals coping with dementia and their caregivers. If through our conversations and stories we can help even a handful of people find guidance and community, we will have met our goal: to help others “Live Their Best With Memory Loss.”

Thank you for your support,
Lori

What to Expect

We aim to include and focus on people diagnosed and living with various dementias, including, but not limited to, Alzheimer’s disease.

Our approach is unique in that it focuses on patients speaking for themselves about what it means to live their best life with their particular diagnosis; what tips they can offer others who have a similar diagnosis.

We will feature caregivers who share their roles, coping strategies, and support tips for loved ones with dementia. As hosts, we ask questions and share our own experiences, not as experts, but as people facing similar challenges.

We’ll also feature interviews with geriatric specialists, neurologists, elder law attorneys, and experts who host social events to enrich the lives of those diagnosed. These guests offer valuable insights and expertise on many levels.
